TENCEL™ fibers help maintain environmental balance by being integrated into nature´s cycle

TENCEL™ and Nature’s Cycle

TENCEL™ Lyocell and Modal fibers help to maintain environmental balance by being fully integrated into nature´s cycle.

TENCEL™ fibers originate from the renewable raw material wood created by the natural process of photosynthesis. The cellulosic fibers are manufactured using an environmentally responsible production process. Composed of natural material, TENCEL™ fibers are biodegradable and compostable and can fully revert back to nature.

From Forest to Fabric – Botanic Origin

TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are derived from sustainable wood sources, harvested from certified and controlled sources.

TENCEL™ Modal fibers are mainly manufactured from the renewable raw material beech wood, sourced from sustainable forests in Austria and neighboring countries.

Moreover, wood and pulp used by the Lenzing Group comes from natural forests and sustainably managed plantations.

Sustainable Production of TENCEL™ Lyocell Fibers

TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers have gained a commendable reputation for their environmentally responsible closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into cellulosic fibers with high resource efficiency and low environmental impact. This solvent-spinning process recycles process water and reuses the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%. Consumers can have the assurance that their fashion choices are not contributing to an adverse impact on the environment.

Environmentally Sound Production Process of TENCEL™ Modal Fibers

Numerous Lenzing innovations have been integrated in the production of TENCEL™ Modal fibers, to make the process environmentally sound. Lenzing strives to safeguard resources for future generations by the use of renewable energy and by the recovery of process chemicals.
